Vars ski resort is an unpretentious, uncut gem with masses of exciting skiing and great value. It oozes friendly, rustic Southern Alps charm and it's very convenient as well. The village is uncrowded, unspoilt and has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
On The Slopes
Ski in Vars for close to 200km of truly great skiing! The beauty of Vars ski resort's extensive ski circuit is that both blue and red alternatives run side by side, traversing the wide open flanks of this ideal ski mountain. This enables mixed groups of skiers to ski the same areas and enjoy the day together.
The main Vars village is Vars Les Claux from which you can access the whole circuit with ease with a choice of two good lifts close by, both within 300m. Ski in Vars and you'll discover that the skiing is split over two huge bowls either side of a high mountain ridge, dividing the village from neighbouring Risoul. The connection to Risoul is easy and opens up lots more skiing. Both are dominated by long blues and reds manageable by almost everyone and some really beautiful tree runs.
